Amanda Shoaf Vincent earned her Ph.D. in French (Civilization track) from Penn State University. Her research interests include the creation and representation of designed spaces, including parks, gardens, and cities, in twentieth and twenty-first century France. Her book Constructing Gardens, Cultivating Meaning: Paris Parks in the Late Twentieth Century is forthcoming from the Pennsylvania University Press. Dr. Vincent is also interested in intercultural issues in the workplace, and has taught courses in Business French and Intercultural Competency for Management. She would welcome the opportunity to mentor students researching a variety of topics including architecture, landscape, and design as well as representations of nature and ecology in contemporary literature.
